Reveal what the numbers don't show.

INDEXA™, RVR1's proprietary assessment, combines closed and open-ended questions to reveal perceptions, inconsistencies and signals that traditional indicators don't show.

Application
One of the largest pharmacy chains in Brazil

One of the largest pharmacy chains in Brazil had consolidated indicators, systems and processes. Even so, factors relevant to the results didn't show up in the numbers.

INDEXA™, an assessment developed by RVR1 based on management studies and references, evaluated three priority dimensions: Spend Management, Operational Excellence and Digital Transformation. The analysis revealed perceptions, inconsistencies and subtle signals, helping to point out where the diagnosis needed to go deeper.

The scenario

Having many indicators is not the same as seeing everything.

Large organizations produce an enormous volume of indicators, reports and management information every day. This data is essential to understanding performance, but it does not reveal everything that affects the results.

Behaviors, perceptions, gaps between what is said and what is done, difficulties between areas and different ways of understanding the processes can remain hidden when the analysis focuses only on the numbers.

The apparent problem

Before analyzing spend, operations or technology, there was a prior question.

What might be undermining the pursuit of results and still doesn't show up in the company's indicators?

Answering it required understanding not only what the numbers showed, but how people perceived the organization and the way it was managed.

What INDEXA reveals

A new layer over the indicators.

By combining closed and open-ended answers, beyond maturity, the methodology makes it possible to observe:

  • Depth and reflection in the answers.
  • Consistency between quantitative and qualitative answers.
  • Participants' perception and gaps between what is said and what is done.
  • Signs of cultural risks that slip past conventional indicators.

The goal is not to replace the existing indicators, but to add a layer to guide where to investigate in greater depth.

The dimensions assessed

Three priority dimensions.

01

Spend Management

How the organization understands and manages its spending.

02

Operational Excellence

Capacity to manage, execute and continuously improve the operation.

03

Digital Transformation

Use of technology and new ways of working to evolve the operation and the results.

The application

Applied across the chain's three dimensions.

The results brought points of attention across the three dimensions and, above all, important differences when the objective answers were set against the open-ended ones. It was these signals that guided the deeper diagnosis.

The deep dive

INDEXA shows where to look. The deep dive lets us understand why.

After the assessment came in-person interviews, meetings and the analysis of documents, information and systems. What emerged was an organization that already had tools, controls and management routines, but with less evident challenges in its management culture, in the interfaces between areas and in leadership involvement.

Points of attention also emerged in the integration of systems and information, in digital transformation, in the development of leaders and in the capacity to turn existing instruments into real changes in behavior.

Results and evidence

From the assessment

What INDEXA delivered

  • Structured evaluation of three priority dimensions.
  • Closed and open-ended questions analyzed together.
  • Inconsistencies and subtle signals identified.
  • Direction on the topics that called for deeper investigation.
From the later diagnosis

What the deep dive revealed

  • A need to strengthen the management culture.
  • Predominantly departmentalized ways of working, with friction at the interfaces.
  • Limitations in the integration of systems and information.
  • Digital transformation initiatives struggling to move forward.
  • A need for greater leadership ownership of the change.

The capability that stayed

Not to replace the numbers. To reveal what they, alone, don't show.

By combining objective answers with the way people describe their reality, INDEXA broadens the understanding of what may be undermining the results and helps the organization decide where to investigate, decide and act.

The outcome

Not everything that affects the result shows up in the numbers.

INDEXA was built to broaden that reading and help organizations see aspects that can remain hidden in the day-to-day, in the indicators and in traditional management systems.

INDEXA™ is an assessment developed by RVR1 to reveal aspects that can remain hidden in traditional indicators and undermine the pursuit of organizational results.
